12 Days of Christmas DIY Ideas: Day 7

by

Entertaining for the holidays? Need ideas for a sweet Christmas dinner table spread? No sweat. Fill your holiday table with joy this season with sweet, customizable table decor containers you can change up at any time. These painted jars, labeled for straws and coffee stirrers, are the perfect way to start. And, after you’ve filled your guests’ bellies with holiday goodies, label leftover containers with these reusable decals so there’s no barrier between you and the leftover potatoes & gravy.

Supplies you’ll need:
Chalkboard Labels Decals (available at Kohl’s)
Clean jars (ours were cleaned spaghetti sauce & pickle jars)
White Chalk

Step 1: First, you’ll clean and dry jars.
Be sure to soak and peel all labels from jars, then set aside to dry. NOTE: soak jars in hot water with Dawn dish soap for 20-30 minutes, then rub labels with washcloth to remove.

Step 2: Next, you’ll spray paint jars.
Set jars onto cardboard or other paintable surface, then lightly coat the jars with a coat of paint. Re-coat jars up to 2 more times, allowing to dry thoroughly between coats.

Step 3: Lastly, you’ll apply decals to finish.
Gently peel decals from backing, then apply to jars. Using chalk, jot message onto labels.

Step 4: Fill with goodies.
Fill with stirrers, straws, silverware, licorice or any other fun things that may make your table the most festive thing your guests have seen.

Happy holiday decorating, and Get Your Riot On!
